Ting Update: Interactive Power Outage Maps

May 28, 2025   |   Company & Product

New in your Ting App: a real-time, interactive power outage map with unmatched accuracy and insights.

Ting’s mission starts with something life-saving: preventing electrical fires in your home. But it doesn’t stop there. Ting also helps you monitor power quality and stay informed with critical outage alerts. And now, we’re taking that protection and peace of mind even further.

This month, we introduced real-time interactive power outage maps—right inside your Ting App.

This first-of-its-kind feature is the only source for accurate, neighborhood-level power outage insights. You’ll be able to see outages as they unfold—even before they reach your home—so you can take action to prepare your family and home, staying a step ahead. And if the power does go out, you’ll instantly know whether it’s just your home or part of a larger outage.

What’s New: Interactive Power Outage Map

  • Neighborhood-Level Awareness: is it just you or is it widespread? Our new interactive map shows whether an outage is affecting just your home, your neighborhood, or a wider area.
  • Live Updates, Smarter Prep: get real-time alerts as outages develop so you’re not caught off guard. If an outage is heading your way, it’s your cue to charge devices, check flashlights, adjust your thermostat, or secure essentials like medications and refrigerated food.
  • National View for Context: curious if it’s a localized outage or part of a larger event? Zoom out to see how your area fits into the broader picture.

How to Access this New Feature:

  • Open the Ting Sensor App on your mobile device.
  • Navigate to the Power Outages section on the home screen.
  • Tap the map to explore your area—or zoom out for a national view.

Tip: Make sure you’ve updated to the latest version of the app to access these new features.

We’re always working to make Ting smarter, stronger, and more effective at protecting your home. These latest updates are just one way we’re enhancing your experience. Because when it comes to your family’s safety, every second and every insight matters.
